Community
Where possible Moss Capital aims to support Australian charities and communities in need.
Currently Moss Capital provides support to the following charities:
Standing Tall
Standing Tall is a school-based mentoring program. It supports one-to-one relationships between members of the community and students who are at risk of not taking full advantage of the educational opportunities offered, in a school setting.
Australian society has a high expectation that our schools will prepare young people to move into life post education with the skills and knowledge necessary for them to function as competent members of the community. The quality of this preparation determines how much young people will be able to fulfill their potential.
The Standing Tall program offers schools an innovative way of working with their communities to help students in meaningful and productive ways, preparing them for the rigors of their post school life.
Evaluation of the Standing Tall program has shown that the students involved have become more engaged with their school work, developed more confidence and a connection to the community.
Moss Capital is proud to support this organisation.
The FSHD Global Research Foundation (www.fshdglobal.org)
The FSHD Global Research Foundation is an Australian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to finding a treatment and cure for Facio-Scapulo-Humeral Dystrophy (FSHD).
FSHD is one of the most common forms of muscular dystrophy and genetic hereditary diseases seen in skeletal muscle. Its prevalence varies from country to country depending on medical diagnostic competence.
The FSHD Global Research Foundation has funded seven research projects over the past two years in the USA, Netherlands, Italy, France and Australia.
The FSHD Global Research Foundation has funding available for research directed at the twin goals of better understanding the human disease Facio-Scapulo-Humeral Dystrophy, and identifying treatments.
Moss Capital is proud to support this foundation.
